Looking Up

The Word of God is forthright in its application of presenting the “roadmap” of sanctification.  Living for God is always a present thing if one lives according to the “rules” of the Word.  When struggles are present it is usually the result of a decision made that contradicts the Word.  In Paul’s writings to the Romans he declared that he had a conflict with the members of his flesh and mind.  They would combat against the Spirit.  He altered his fleshly life and his mind activity.  He finally came to this conclusion: Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. (Romans 7:24-25 ESV) The whole Word makes one realize that “perfect” peace comes when the mind is totally embracing His great love. He wrote these lines of the Word that has been the centered of “classical” sanctification for the whole church-world. If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Col. 3:1-3 ESV) Having communion with the world in the state and condition that it is in, we must remember that the heart must be completely in jubilation with the love of God.  Living a sanctified life does challenge one to keep the heart and mind in the place where God has enthroned Himself. Jesus spoke these words to His disciples: And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”(Matthew 28:18-20 ESV) Amen!!! He walks with us and He guides through His Spirit. The mandate is given and the challenge is received. So do it with the heart and mind “purchased” by Him and no other. In other words, don’t place yourself in the midst of this world looking for peace and tranquility.  Look up and know that He is the Lord your God and set your mind on Him and He will prepare you for the soon and coming King!
