The Sufficiency of God
He is all we need and He is all we should count on. When Paul was going through the most difficult time of His ministry he realized that the Lord was there in power and in strength. He prayed and asked God to help him. He was being “buffeted” by a devil (a demonic force) and could not stop nor defeat this on his own. The unique process that was stated in 2 Corinthians 12 is definitely worth the mentioning to you the reader. Paul first concluded that he was unable to conquer this force that was set against him. He went to the Lord three times and finally he received an answer that would deliver him from this downward spiral that he was on. The Lord answered in this manner: 2 Cor. 12:9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. As is now aforementioned Paul was glad that he received this communication of revelation about his dilemma. What he learned through this is really a lesson for all of us to put into practice. Not every one goes through difficulties as intense as this one mentioned but the application can be used in any situation. When trouble hits and the pressures are on, you can go to the Lord! Don’t stop asking till you receive the communication of the revelation from Him who can deliver and be strong in your weakness. Don’t focus on the handicap but begin to appreciate the gift of Christ in your life. Paul took sadness and with God’s help turned it into gladness. He began to boast and rejoice in the situation that the devil was putting on him and stopped giving place to the buffeting. His grace is sufficient for all of us and His strength is enough. Some things cannot be conquered by your own abilities. Always count on the Lord and remember that He is able do all that you ask of Him. Stand in the power of His might – you have done all that you can do now appreciate what He is doing for you.
