There is Hope

Discouragement occupies the hearts of so many people today.e The difficulties facing this generation is not only insurmountable but reflective of adding all the past failures into one generation. The mistakes that have been made seem to be producing a chasm between reality and surrealism.  Surrealism is the becoming the norm in today’s society. Making choices from the basis of fear instead of faith. The countenances of the masses are measured by degrees of despair and not of victorious living. The promises of a government that can bring change is actually a “comedy of errors” and simply should not be used as a platform for hope! Hope means that there is a promise that will come to pass. It is defined as anchor that will keep one from being tossed into the abyss of problems and difficulties. The continuation of the goals that have been temporarily removed from the projection of the dreams of so many. So many today have the look of hopelessness! Have the people of this generation forgotten that there is hope in Christ. That they have a hope promised by God and a future designed by the Creator of the heavens and the earth!

The Lord states a great promise of hope to all mankind: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV) That anticipation with expectancy is birthed into every soul that hears or reads t his promise. Confidence rises up in the soul and produces a joy and a peace  tah tcan only come from a heart full of faith and hope. Looking into the future from a platform of faith can only give a “boost” to your dreams and goals. That is why it is always important to dream big, not small.

The bird in the cage looks out wondering if it will ever be free. Freedom and flight is a hope for that bird. It would just take the cage door to be opened and away it would fly on the currents of wind, rising to heights only that were hoped for. When Isaiah penned these words: …but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 ESV), the meaning is quite clear what he was stating! The hope is for those who will wait upon the Lord. Not to those who will run ahead of Him and try to do the things that may work. God does things that do work. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21 ESV) Waiting of the counsel of the Lord is a must and really should not be made a matter of choice (even though God always allows us to choose with are own mind and will). Joshua made his declaration at the end of his life about the future and the importance of hope for himself and his family… choose this day whom you will serve,… But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15 ESV)

Embrace the future with hope and confident expectancy, basing your steps from what the Lord has promised… (Proverbs 16:9)
