Running With Compassion

Often my heart feels like it is about ten steps ahead of me.  I sense that I am running to keep up with the compassion which pulls me further into the lives of the hurting.  My life seems to be always directed to those that are in need of love and care.  Actually, this care and concern that races in my heart for others is no a stranger to me.  It is a good friend actually, and I really mean that.  Knowing that someone is being cared for and served from a heart of compassion is really quite satisfying.  I hope that I can keep up the pace.  I know that this pace is set by the Lord and He will keep me in the race.  That is my faith and true hope!  Recently the pace has picked up and I weep often when I see hurting people and those in desolate conditions and positions in life.  I realize that God is doing a deep work in me about all this so I am comforted in my tears and eagerness to do more.  My prayers often platform from a  place I call “want to” (desire to).  Yes, I “want to” (desire to) do more and I cry out to Him to allow me to help Him more.  I know He hears me and is mentoring me but I so deeply desire to do more.  Pleading and pressing to do more.  My heart is racing and I am running to keep up!

My Heart To Yours

I’m so glad your heart is leading you and I’m glad it is out front. To many men of God follow God with a dead heart because all they care about is the approval of men. You my friend are not like that and you never have been. You have a racing heart because it’s God’s heart.

    Love ya bro.

    Steve,

Thanks dude, it means a lot to me that God is leading my heart into the purpose of this race. I simply just want to run after Him!

About 20 years ago in the mountains of Oakhurst at summer youth camp, you made an impact on a young kid. I’m not sure what your role was in the camp, but I remember you being out there leading and making impact on young peoples lives. You spoke with conviction and you were among the kids…. Not to mention that You were the “Guru” of “Chubby Bunny”! I want to let you know that 20 years later, I remember those youth camps and the passion you brought. Over the years I would occasionally hear of what God was doing in your life and as I read your blog everyday, you continue to bless and inspire.

    Jon,

Wow, thank you for your words and the heart that I sense when I read them. I am truly humbled and will forever praise Him for allowing me to be part of lives that He has created.
