The Irony of it All
Christianity was birthed through suffering and death. The cost of an individuals. the most prominent individual of all time and eternity paid for the name of Christianity. The base rules were set whe Jesus stated two very important commands… And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40 ESV)
Two simple commands, both based and rooted in the heart of God and sound meaning precisely as stated. Yet, since stated people have not been able to keep them. Why? In base truth it goes against the very nature that was ruptured in the Garden of Eden. Sin creeps in and tarnishes the the shine of God’s commands, at least in the minds of those who simply wish to disbelieve. This begins and ends with each individual not partnerships of people or churches. This is where the “irony” breaks a new record of discord and opposite meaning to what was so full of truth that it bleed on Calvary’s Cross. People who call upon God: Should love God with all they are made of! They should also love their neighbors as well as themselves. Where do we find such a person? Every where and no where. In every church and in every neighborhood! Oh, that this would be the truth of mankind’s aftermath of meeting a Holy God. But no, the wars continue abroad and also in the communities where dwell successful businesses alongside wonderfully built churches. The debates over nonessential doctrines fill the ears of many listeners, most of which have never had an experience of salvation. The center piece of the heart is not focused on the two great commandments but on the center of desires that feed on debates and schisms rooted in self pride and fear. No wonder so many have left the organize church searching for something more sincere and biblically sound. Truth is not far from the heart but the heart is far from the truth. (Matthew 15:8) Given the circumstances of this most crucial time in the history of the Church one would sincerely embark on the road to perfect peace or spiritual logic. The Church does not have time for irony anymore! The testimony of the Cross was not to divide but to bring unity of the heart. Love is the conquering verb of life. Bringing all else to a halt. Giving all to God for the cost of the death of self and the also the surrender of pride for the are of the neighbor. The words the Jesus spoke were not meant for vanity or over puffed egos to grow larger but for modesty of heart and the enrichment of the soul. The statement is being made it takes God to bring humanity into Christianity but it takes a Christian to push them back out! This irony of relationship is not to be tolerated anymore. The cost of His love was immeasurable. Paul put a stop to this kind of life when he wrote: For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2 ESV) which can be compared and lived out through (Galatians 2:20)
