The Birth of the Savior

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor,  Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 ESV)

What a wonderful morning it must have been!  He came into this world in an unobserved location, a place where no one would want to birth a King!  He came to a world that He created and He came to save it and prepare it for the Kingdom of God.  Who was there during these wonderful moments in time?  Mary, the mother of Jesus, Joseph and the animals, which were being sheltered in the manger that night were the only ones present.  It was not clean like a hospital or even did it have the comfort of an inn, it was s manger a place that kept animals and their grains.  The Holy Spirit led them there, to this place of the Child’s birth.  She came and delivered this child pondering all that has been promised to her by the angel Gabriel.  It must have been a moment that was awesome in time.  When Jesus gave forth His first cry would end with a cry from the Cross of Calvary!  The gentle touch of His mothers’ hand upon His body would someday be replaced with the hands of Roman soldiers beating Him and nailing Him to a Cross.  A crowd yelling “Crucify Him, Crucify Him…” would replace the shepherds that came to honor Him and then go and tell all of what they had witnessed. The three kings that brought Him gifts from afar would one day understand the importance of the myrrh, gold and frankincense.  The angels that were singing praises unto His name at His birth would also witness from heaven the crucifixion of the One who created them.  This Child would take His first steps on the earth that would try to contain Him and place Him in a dark tomb.  But He knew that He would rise and conquer death and give victory over life.  This Child that felt the gentleness of the embrace of the arms that would care for Him would be alone in the Garden of Gethsemane praying unto the Father for this burden to be lifted, the burden of the sin of this world.  His birth was a signet to all mankind that the Savior has been born!  The Emmanuel, the Christ, the Anointed One has come from eternity into time to reconcile man back to the Father and eternity.  His purpose was to be born in flesh and live a life of purity and holiness, not to sin but to redeem man from his sin.  He did just that and He never faltered in His purpose. It all started by a promise and it became a fulfillment when one early morning a Child cried His first cry and heaven heard it and rejoiced.  The Savior has been born to the world!  He has been given to us as a Savior and King, what wonderful gift – that of Salvation through Him!

    Hi Pastor Dennis;
    It is good to read your words on the net again. How are you? and Kathy and the boys and Erin?
    How is your new ministry going? do you have a church or a center where you can preach the word?
    My Rachel and her husband Josh had a boy last February, who is now just starting to walk. We will visit with them again tomorrow at Margaret’s Parents house. My two Youngest are still at home and going to Chabot, although Bobby has almost become self sufficient as a Tv cameraman with two part time jobs. Josh at nineteen is having a more difficult time in this current job market. John and His girl Friend who were out of work for so long have been able to find employment in the maintainance department of a new Indian Casino. The wages are low but these days, any full time job is a good one.
    I Think this chickens coming home to roost with the economy is Gods justice coming back to a world that has not only ignored Him but questioned his very existence. I sent this message out with my Christmas cards:

    Once again it is Christmas and I write the Christmas note from myself and my family to all of you in my extended family and circle of friends. If any time of the year is for families, it is Christmas. On Christmas we spread the news to those whom we have not been in contact with and those we see regularly about events that have happened to our family that we wish to share with others. This year in our family we had a major event when our daughter Rachel and her husband Joshua had their first child Benjamin Ray Embry, born this February 16th . My Children are all healthy and thankfully, in this economy, all have employment, though with Josh and Bobby it is part time as they are still in school. And this year, having sold our apartment complex I have had more time to involve myself in things that are truly important and that many of us tend to think about, which is our relationship with our eternal Father. For as much as we are thankful that our parents wanted to have a family and so we came into this world we can remember that all of us came here because our eternal Father wanted a family.
    We became separated from that eternal family, lost because of the deceitful cares of this world became more important to us than our Family and so Our Father sent his Son to rescue us and return us to that Family. Once again the deceiving powers of this world have tried very hard to make us forget this, They even made us forget the exact day of Our Savior s Birth. No matter, Christ is Eternal. The 25th of December is the day when the ancients feasted because that day was the time in the season when they first were sure that the days, which had been getting shorter and colder, were now getting longer and soon would be warmer. In other words they symbolically celebrated life returning to the world .
    So to rejoice in remembrance of the reality of the One who is Source of life returning to us on that day is appropriate. In closing I hope you all can find happiness on this day of life and family with all of your loved ones and friends.
    Merry Christmas John and Margaret Bambey
    Ps Dennis , write to us soon JJB
