What A Time As This

After spending the day pondering this hour we live in I could not help but say to myself…What a time as this.

Reaching back into historical memories of the early days of ministry and even before that I could not compare any time to this time.  I really thought, just how liberal and non-confrontational can this “body of believers”, here in America, become? It happens to be 2009 and the “bar” of right living again has been lowered!

I like what the writer in the Book of Hebrews wrote:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrew 12:1-2 ESV)

Why have so many quit running in the race? We have so much history to draw from. The history of testimonies of those that relied on what the Word stated and believed it, even unto death. Today all we want to do is too be entertained and comforted but never confronted about sin or unrighteous living. Th word “grace” has been brought to a level negotiating salvation instead of knowing that it is the cause of our salvation. Grace with endurance is an important part of our life that we live here on this earth!

There is a battle going on and that battle is worth striving and wrestling in to see victory for this generation.  Watching all the “new” voices coming forth and the “dogma” and erroneous philosophies that are being taught causes me to wonder what is next? Some life that really is no different from the life that I once lived? That is why we must look to Jesus each day and realize that He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega. He bring to our lives perfection that we could not have on our own.

He is the air we breathe and the hope that we have! When He saw us, He saw joy and also having faith in us that we would not lower the standards of “holy” living to gain the world.   The part that we have to look forward to is that of living with Him for eternity! That cost we could never pay and what He has already completed for us is a gift to our lives and future, an eternal future.

My whole life has been a life that lives on the edge and believes deeply in radical faith and relations. Bringing Christ to a world that has almost but forgotten Him and His sacrifice. Time is moving on and we must redeem that time! Making every effort with fortitude and faith to acknowledge Him before all men.

This week look into your heart and see if there has been a replacement, yes, replacement. Somewhere you may have replaced Christ for some liberal action or opinion that depletes what you first believed. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew you relationship with fire. Start running in the race again. Love people but love God more.

Simply become a radical for Christ Jesus. You will never regret it!
