Earhtquake @ 8:09 PM PST

Well, we had the first earthquake for 2007. It was 9 mile north of San Jose about 15 miles from our home here in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

5.6 on the Richter Scale with 4 after shocks. My thoughts are that I am glad I serve the God who can shake certain sections of the earth at different times.

People are always concerned about the “big one” here in the west (California to be specific). Earthquakes are definitely something to be deeply concerned about, especially when you have been through one that has destroyed homes, bridges and taken lives. I am referring to the one in 1989 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Earthquakes demand respect and oh man, do we respect them out here! I believe that God is just shaking the earth to say…”Trust me, don’t try to build bridges that I cannot shake, just trust me and your future is safe with me.” Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Tsunami’s and Volcanic eruptions, floods and fires all have a message: Get right with God and know that He is the Lord. I am not one that believes that God destroys a city like New Orleans because of it sin, if that is true, then He forgot a few places out west! What I am saying boldly in this typed blog is that God is whom you need to know when these kind of troubles come knocking, bounding and disrupting your life.

Just call upon Him and He will answer.

Peace (no pun intended)

Grandad Had His Day

Today, I had the great pleasure spending time with my granddaughter. We spent time going out to the store and getting some lunch. As I was on the way into town with her, I realized that this was the first time we spent together as grand to grand. Sierra Rose is just 20 months old. She has just returned from Cleveland, TN with mom and dad. So we went the store together to get bread and to eat at Foster’s Freeze. She had fries, an old fashion cheeseburger, chocolate shake and a small ice cream cone. I had what she did not finish. We had so much fun. Obviously this will be memory for me that will never pass. Today, granddad had his day!

My New Blog Space

I have been working for a few weeks on the right blog theme and bogging software. Well, this is it (I hope). I chose WordPress.org as my software which is on my server. It is not the WordPress.com (which is the wizard site.)

I chose this theme because it looks cool and fits the theme of the blog. Anyway it is really late, 1:00 AM, and I am getting a bit sleepy. Look for regular journaling now!

Where Have I Been? What Have I been Doing?

A lot of work.

Recently I have been playing blog search.

· Typepad

· WordPress

· Blogger

· Yahoo 360

· pMachine Free

· Sqauarespace ( I am using this one as of now)

· b2evolution

· Nucleus

· Vox

· Live Journal

Some are free and some cost.

Not sure if I am going to keep this one. Not sure which one I will use yet. I have a server and a host so why do I want to pay again for this. Even though Squarespace is really great and helps make professional blogging easy. I have been adding domains names to my host server. So I am going to continue blogging here till my new blog site is built. I’m going to build it. I just can’t help myself I am also going to be building a new website for our foundation: Acts of Love Foundation, Inc. I probably am going to redo my other site also: Potters Hand Ministry Center. So if you know me, you know how “techie” I am. Actually a bit O.C.D. “techie” I really dislike admitting that!
So, where have I been? Being really “techie” and lovin’ it. Ever need any answers for computer tech stuff or IT, just let me know.

We Should Never Forget

What a time to hear from the Lord!

I was leaving Costco today (after shopping for the churches fellowship dinner). I noticed this you man sitting at the edge of a pillar. He had a piece of paper in his hand, green with writing. He had just taken it from a folded and wrinkled envelope. I asked him, “Is it worth it?” He looked at me with a twisted grin mixed with amazement and confusion. “What do you mean? Is it worth it? What are you talking about?” I stated with calmness and intensity (that is possible, Jesus did it!), “The paycheck in your hand…” He looked down at the green check and looked back at me. I looked deep into his eyes and said, Is it worth it? Working all week long for the check?” He looked again at the check and then back at me and responded, “I don’t know, I guess.” He seemed to get a lift of happiness though that he had a tangible reward for his labor. It took a paycheck to bring him a lift!

Then the Lord spoke to me: “Why do people treat their relationship with me like a paycheck?” I said “What?” He said “They get a lift, a moment of joy when I bless them, then it’s back to the…does He really love me thing!? Wow, He is right! We live for the blessing not for the blessing giver! Ouch that one hit home. Bullseye! How about that for being in the Costco parking lot preparing for ministry?
