Trust is a great word! To trust is also very difficult for some. The definition of trust is: Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Relations have to be built on trust! Trust is also the acceptance of the truth of a statement without evidence or investigation. It really does read easy on the screen doesn’t it? I would say so myself, that it does. However, trust has been abused, manipulated and disguised as a false obligation for to long by too many people.

To trust is also a sensitive action to many people. People have become suspicious and over cautious because of the exploitation of a wonderful part of our human character. Because of the issues of sin and selfishness the trust part of our character has been damaged to many times. That is why we must put our confidence in God.

More relationships have been damaged because of the maltreatment of trust. Simple trust is like this: I trust the alarm will go of in the morning if I set it. I trust the my car will start when I turn the ignition key. I trust that I will get my pay check that is due on payday! Yes, that is the simplicity of trust. It takes the acceptance of the truth without the evidence. Sounds just like “faith” to me.

The ability to trust is in our nature but so is the ability to not to trust. The choice is always there. I like to choose to trust in the Word of God and the direction that it gives me daily.

“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. ” (Proverbs 3:5, AMP)

The Lord never fails us! He keeps His Word and His promises are sure and steadfast. Keep trusting Him, keep praying and keep believing. Do not lean on your stuff lean on His! Do you have an issue with trust? Then give it to Him, He is able to take care of it all!
