Hebrews 10:22-23 (NIV)
22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

I. What a world we live in!

•    A world bent on serving the

o    Pride
o    Pleasure
o    Pursuance of sin

•    The church, herself, has become inconsistent

o    In doctrine
o    In dedication
o    In dogma

•    A Nation in Turmoil

o    Over War
o    Over Policies
o    Over Economics

II. What can one do during this most incredible time in human history?

•    Pray
•    Pursue
•    Persist

III. Some patriarchs that made the declaration to be consistent

Job:
“Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.” (Job 13:15, NIV)

Paul:
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2, NIV)

Isaiah:
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, NIV)

David:
“He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” (Psalm 1:3, NIV)

IV. There is an enemy and we cannot summit to His lies and deceptions
•    The Pride of life
•    The lust of the eyes
•    The lust of the flesh

  1. He desires to ruin the holiness of a godly marriage
  2. He desires to ruin the testimony of Calvary
  3. He desires to disable the resurrection of our King

But God….
” Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” (Romans 12:1-3, NIV)
