Traveling to another country or nation with authority from the king or president to represent the particular laws of the country sent from would be quite an experience. The word of the Lord declares to us that we also are to be “ambassadors” for Him on this earth. When this position is recognized and done properly it brings health to a nation — A wicked messenger falls into trouble, But a faithful ambassador brings health. Proverbs 13:17 The message that an ambassador brings to the nation that he or she is sent to can be different depending on the laws of that particular nation. We though had been given a distinct and powerful message — Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 Cor. 5:20 We are to speak and live the gospel to its fullest. Society today does not spend the time or the energy to bring the message of reconciliation to this nation or even to this world. The world is growing by leaps and bounds in populous and also further apart from the truth of the gospel. Jesus came to this earth as an ambassador from the Father of Lights. He represented the Kingdom of God and all it principles and precepts. He never came to be changed into what this world was but to implore the world to change into what they were created to be and that is to be the sons and daughters of God. Our responsibility and our “calling” has not changed we are to continue to bring the right message and the right representation to this world. We are the “ambassadors” for Him this very hour. Jesus spoke just what the Father wanted Him to speak and He obeyed every command that the Father gave Him. He created a paradigm for us which is not difficult to exemplify. He left us a manual – The Word of God which should be used daily to “mirror” His principles and precepts. To take the Word to a world that needs and must be reconciled to God if they ever hope to see Him. He has established His kingdom on this earth by and through the death and resurrection of Jesus. He sent (or gave) us His Spirit to lead us and guide us in all truth. We are well equipped to be His ambassadors here on this earth the question is this: Are you an ambassador for Him or are you living the principles of the world?
Now that I have opened up this introduction to your eyes I must stress a very valid point: We are living in the most precise time ever in the history of the Church. To be an evangelist, a carrier of the torch of the Gospel, has it greatest advantages now. You do not need to leave the country or even your city! As a matter of fact you do not even need to leave your neighborhood. Carry the light of Christ into your neighborhood, community, town, city or metroplex. Society has changed so drastically toward religion and its concept of faith toward God, that subcultures have been birthed throughout proximity of your dwelling. Where I minister now and have been for the past eight years, is like being in another country. The subculture that I minister to here would be foreign to many. So with that stated being an ambassador to my city is like leaving the country and going to a far off foreign land and imploring the people to come to Christ. Working with the laws of a very liberal city and adjusting the method of representation has been the challenge but bringing the message in a pertinent way has not. Becoming friends with the subculture has and continues to be an enjoyable experience. After several years of becoming friends and building the lines of trust, fruit is beginning to be harvested. Bringing health to a city where it was not aware that there was any spiritual wickedness or disease, in a spiritual sense, was not any easy task but being an ambassador for Christ is not easy when living out the Gospel to its fullest. Enjoyable, yes and actually the most interesting part is witnessing the spiritual renewal amongst the the people we share the laws and precepts of the Kingdom of God too. When the word “ambassador” first came into the conceptual thought pattern of becoming one, it was foreign to me. So odd, in a sense, that I thought that it was for only foreign dignitaries and people looking to bring democracy to nations through out the known world. I served in ministry for several years and thought that way until it came to me like the sun rising in a mid-summers morning. The light breaking over the horizon with warmth and comfort in such a way as to speak to my heart. Being an ambassador is for all that love Him! All that are willing to take His love to His creation. I did not need a passport, even though I own one, what I needed was the willingness to commit to the “going” and the “bringing” of His theocracy into the hearts of a spiritually declining generation in a city where I had been saved. I had been away for nearly 30 years and now I came back as a representative of the King of kings. I left as a disciple on a journey to learn and grow in wisdom and grace. Returning with the gusto of a newly appointed ambassador with the message of mercy and grace. Representing the greatest of all kings, Jesus Christ! The King needs ambassadors in every community across this country and around the world. Going out the door and driving to church, listening to a message and then having lunch. After lunch returning home to relax and then plan fro the same next week is not being an ambassador. It is being an American Christian waiting for the clouds to part and be called up into a glorious heaven. Just what have you done to bring the principles of Christianity to your neighbor, community, city or metroplex? If you are looking to go up, then make sure that you are going to bring some testimonies and stories of being an ambassador in the a foreign area which is right outside your door. It is a good calling and a great position to be in! He is there with you ready to be reconciled to those that receive His saving grace.
