When we wake we are automatically responding to what is “normal” in our lives – we get up and get going!  When the Lord spoke to Abram He proclaimed to Him: Get up and get going!  Abram responded and what a life he had with the Lord!  The Lord has done this with His people throughout scripture – Moses, David, Joshua, the disciples and even you!

When the Lord placed the command in the scripture to go it was for the purpose of the harvesting.  After the flood God spoke to Noah and made this promise: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22 ESV) This covenant that the Lord made with Him (namely, the Noahic Covenant) is still in process and actually it is the ruling law in the Kingdom of God and all principles and precepts can be found in the application of this covenant!  At the end of the life of Christ on this earth He gave a commandment to the disciples that continues even till now, and that command is… And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 ESV: He is stating to get up and get going because the harvest is ripe and the harvest is willing…Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. (John 4:35 ESV) In application of this He gave instructions to the disciples to wait till they were endued with power from on high…(Luke 24:49) He promised that they would receive power to witness…in other words boldness to proclaim the name of Christ and there is no other name but His name whereby a man may be saved…Acts 4:12 Since we have this command to get up and go and that we also have the power to witness let me ask a question that would be very sobering…What are you doing to bring in the harvest?  The harvest is ripe and all must apply themselves in the labor fields of the Lord!  Every soul that can be added to the kingdom is one less soul that will not find itself in hell!  We have received the command and we have received the power so let’s get up and get going!
