The personalities found in the Word of God characterize elements of time that each one has to face. The one that is the most reflective in the hearts of true believers is when Christ faced the awesome and most difficult moment to choose death of over life to bring life to death. What a segment of time that must have been that brought an effect on the consequence of man’s future and relationship with life. The other crucial moment that stands out is when Paul could not get hold of what he was but realized what his character was portraying…Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? (Romans 7:24 ESV) This could have grown out of what he saw in his accomplishments in Philippians – Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:8-11 ESV) Becoming more aware of what is important in your character is what these scriptures and reflections of both mentioned individuals promote by their facing a crucial moment.

These types of moments visit the lives of everyone that has called on the Name of Jesus. There has been a transformation of character in the heart of a person who is passionate about becoming what they yet are not. Seeing yourself as someone that you are is a point of contact spiritually with God. Job was processed in a spiritual duel between God and Satan to become what he needed to be. Even though he had gained al the wealth and possessed the testimony of a righteous man he yet had to be birthed into the man that would stand against the storms of torment and pain. He came to that moment when he stated compellingly –  I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; (Job 19:25-26) The truth that we face ultimately is what we really are in the eyes of God and how we need Him in every moment of our dwelling here on earth. Reacting to what people may say about you and how they may perceive you is not a crucial moment but a “fleshy” moment in your inner-man (mind). What defines that moment in your life is when you stop racing through time searching for the end and look deep into your heart and are willing to weigh out your personal convictions. Staring into that vastness of life’s experiences which are stored up in the heart; there now needs to be a truth expelled from the darkness into the light. That truth is the need to do the Father’s will and to be a partaker in the resurrection of Christ no matter what the cost! That moment and that decision now can be recognized as becoming a disciple and following Christ wholeheartedly. Seeing, that your life alone means only what man can make of it. When you join your life with God it promotes what He will make of it! Are you willing to have a crucial moment in your life?
