There are times when the hunger of the soul seems to be unquenchable and cries out for more of God’s mercy. There is a dinner table in our hearts that invites Jesus to come and sit at. (Revelation 3:20) The presence of the Lord always, when recognized, brings a peace that surpasses all understanding. It actually guards the heart and soul from turmoils and confusion. As Jesus went about doing the Father’s business He would always stop and feed the people when necessary. Today, as then, He still feeds us when we are spiritually hungry for His presence and His love. To walk with Christ through the time of prayer that is done daily is an exceptional gift ans an honor to the soul. The task of following Jesus is a deep spiritual one that takes partnering with the Holy Spirit. (John 14:26) We must have a spiritual walk if we are going to lead a spiritual life. (Galatians 5:25) Taking life by the hand can be the most detrimental task and an error in ambition and judgment that one could ever make. On the contrary, taking the hand of the Creator of Life is the wisest decision and can only amp up the ambition needed to go through life successfully.
Pursuing grace and embracing mercy are an everyday event in the life of a true believer. Having the sure knowledge that the Lord will never not hear you and will always answer your prayers withe His will and your heart in mind is comforting to say the least. Living the life that is surrendered to God and exemplifying Jesus Christ allows the heart to dine with the Master and be fulfilled in the secret places of the soul. Those places that only the Lord and each individual meet at and there is the place where the hunger is satisfied. Prayer is more than just communication of needs and wishes or hopes of fulfillment of dreams and visions. It is a place where the soul meets the Savior and the feasting on mercy begins. He has always cared about the soul and the hunger of it. His life was promoted on this earth to the Servant, who washed the feet of His own disciples (John 13) Often times people confuse mercy for kindness and invent their own defined situations for God’s love to rewrite the self promotion of comfort. Like the error of the lack of prayer is the ignorance to just what mercy is to the human soul. It is the underlying sustaining foundation for a life that is at peace with the Master.
Taking time to pray and to feast with the Lord is not a uncomfortable task but a opportunity to restore the fullness and embrace the grace of God’s favor toward His children. When taking moments, which turn into hours of prayer, the heart can explore the meaning of mercy. Feasting on the many splendors of God’s love and being renewed in the broken places that occur through life’s journey. When Jesus called for His disciples they would not only respond but it was the soul that would run to the Lord for mercies sake. Could it be that Peter walked out on the water to meet him (Matthew 14:28-29) because his soul was wanting to feast on mercy? Mercy is what he found for Jesus lifted him up and carried him into the boat. This just what mercy does it lifts you up and into the safety of the arms of the Lord.
