Some Folks: Get A Grip!
You know what? I have spent literally thousands of hours on computer. Yep, that is right learning and programing, designing, and surfing. In last few years with all the blogging and bandwidth sharing through email and such, I can only say that some people need to get a grip! With the latest OMG stuff about if women should be ordained and how the COG is going to get through this last assembly without back-pedaling is absolutely ludicrous!
Some of these bloggers and email’s have finally got there soapbox and should I add a mic “on the GA floor” and guess what you should have been more courageous then. Your words of old “traditional” hoopla isn’t being held up anymore. You type like you are an aristocrat with long fingernails. Just tapping away on keys because you think you have something that will float in this 21st Century! Give it up! Heaven and earth are rejoicing in the formal outbreak of a radical generation who will not put up with the “false food” of bureaucracy that has choked the COG for years. If there is a dry taste in your mouth with some “crunchy” sensations that is just the dust you getting as you are being left behind to find that your salt has lost its savor.
I have read some blogs lately and I thought out loud: Why are these good, honest, and truly radical people reacting to some of the “literary chunk” that is being type and sent out on important bandwidth? Keep positive and don’t be getting into foolish disputes. Let those who live by the law get saved by the law! That is not possible! So let those who live by love get saved by love! Now that is possible, because God is love!
The “shift” spiritually is begun and there is no words nor mumblings that one can write or orate that will change what God has set forth before the foundations of the earth.
It is so interesting to draw from the history of the Internet and see how far we have come. Again, the bandwidth slows down with the “carnal” but thought to be ’spiritual” weight of words that are but a ripple in a vast ocean of real truth.
I will keep watching and reading, shaking my head, wondering from what planet these people come from!

Getting Ready
Soon and very soon we are going to see the….
The General Assembly is so close I can smell the after shave and the hear the “Hey doc’s” all around me. I won’t be there this year but prayer will be on my agenda (as always) that week. So much is being discussed. Check out all the hoopla here and see just what is up! Great stuff1 Passionate guys like Travis Johnson and John Stone with a hoard of others blogging are prayerfully going to help turn this denomination toward a future with hope and some 21st Century ingredients.
I have written many blogs on this denomination and been part of some great discussions. I have served for over 30 years in the CoG and have great moments and also some not so great moments. My hope is that when the “elephants” that are going there to turn this denomination into a 21st Century Church that will regain that harvest and restore hope to the present congregation’s across this nation and internationally, will not turn from the mouse! I know that was a long sentence.
I really wish I could be there to help them along with this hardy task that they have taken on! I am assured that there are many who will “vote” with them! (At least I hope so!) So many change their approach when they get around the “mouse that roars”. I hope that women can get ordained and that same gender can be treated as an equal in church. Wow, can you believe that in the day we live words like this are even being spoken? Come on, this stuff should have been decided on years ago!
I hope that this denomination comes to grip with the needed changes. I applaud the young men (and old guys) of our “used to be movement” for all the research and courage for speaking, writing and blogging to the issues that are so important to all of our futures that care about the CoG.
We need to get on track and follow what the Holy Spirit is saying to our hearts!

It’s Time To Be Radical
Have you ever thought about what is going on in this world today? Especially in America! With all the weather conditions that have broke the scales in records and continues to do so. The “great” falling away from the faith and the “lukewarm” attitude of most churches! Come on now these churches are of the Charismatic or Pentecostal persuasion. This is the summer for gatherings of church leaders to make decisions for the future of the denominations that they lead. What a time for radical faith to break out from the hearts of those leading and those being lead. What a sound opportunity is given to all those that call on the Name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, to move in radical faith.
This also declares that all should have radical expectancy. Yes, to be expectant of all that the Lord has promised. Men’s plans are good but they fail! God’s plans are awesome and they never fail! This is the time in present prayer to listen to what is being spoken by the Holy Spirit and act upon it immediately. It really is not radical to have a committee meeting about what the Lord has declared to be done. It is not time to send in a reconnaissance to see if the land is good or not! The promise of deliverance, success, healing, prosperity, empowerment, salvation is spoken from the heart of God. Listen to Him, move in faith, be radical in action!
Do not just sit in front of a computer screen and blog but move out into the supernatural and miraculous. There are souls in and out of the Church that need to see the real Jesus not the one who is often times taught with the myths and metaphysical philosophies of todays minsters. Go ahead move out there where faith is waiting to meet you!

It Is Time To Break Silence
It seems that blogging in some spheres has come to a “silence” on issues that were “hot” topics in the past six months. Such as, where the Church of God is heading in future and who would be the catalyst of change or should I say what group would that be? I wrote a blog some time ago about the Elephant and Mouse myth (which really is not a myth) reflecting on these well discussed changes and hoped for turn of events for the Church of God. Well, as I had explained to some of the pursuers of such “fantasy” that the silence would come because the mouse has begun to roar. The event coordinators have become an intranet in themselves and also inward in their thoughts and private invitations to blog. Yes, I once was young and thought I could change the mouse with the heftiness of words and an over developed confidence. So I truly do understand the outcome of all this and quite frankly wisdom always speaks louder than short sided opinions and shallow aspirations. You cannot stop the mouse with an elephant but you can set an awesome mouse trap to study the habits of the creature before you learn to train it to your own maze. Yes, the mouse has begun to roar and everyone that used the blog-o-sphere to gain information has run back to the place and are waiting for promotion of some sort. You just cannot become public and then start your own social blog for the purpose of having a “by invitation only” fan club. That is how “weak” characters can feel strong by pulling on those who agree with marshmallow success. Popularity becomes unfamiliarity with reality when the world grows so small in a “club” of internal ”wanna be’s”

Determining The Blog Temperature
What temperature is determined by the blog that is written? There are so many bloggers out there now it has become a blog readers heaven! The difficulty comes when blogs become “cold” topics. Topics that seem to be going nowhere and are not “hot” topics for the present day. Keeping up with the temperature in blogging can be quite the task. It seems to me that different groups set up “discussions” and wait for the response of the readers. So the temperature depends on the readers not the bloggers.

Elephant Fears Mouse - Myth Or Not?
Watch this video in reference to my post on “Taking Elephant Steps”. It answers a question that may have been a thought of humor or not!
Consider this in reference to the above mentioned post.

Taking Elephant Steps
For several months I have been listening and reading all sorts of blogs and material about what is going on in the “Church” world. It seems to me that we are all over the map on what would be called a “theme” for change. This really makes my spiritual DNA shake and quake a bunch.
What I am concerned about though is put into this scenario: When the mouse shows up the elephant “freaks out” and starts taking huge steps to get out of the way of the mouse, crushing everything in its way. I am wondering if all this is the elephant stage and some how the mouse is going to enter in uninvited and catch the “elephant” unaware.
In other words, everything is in the elephant stage of progress: big, and rough looking and not ready for quick movement or ability to rest in a small simple place. In turn the mouse has this uncanny power over this infancy of application and can really cause a trampling of hearts and perspectives. Seems to be a moment of reflection for the “Church of God” ministry and constituency.

The Greater Part
In the past few days I have been really pondering all the circumstances and situational dialogues that I have read in the blogosphere . The subjects vary from Church growth to social change, along with decentralization of denominations. The subjects have been all over the “board”. These exchanges of ideas and opinions have been and I am sure will continue to be quite refreshing. Yes, and often times educational and challenging!
For moment though, in your reading this, I would like to add that the “Greater Part” is knowing that He is able to conclude the whole matter of the different subjects mentioned. He is the “greatness” that we seek to amend to our own situations and ideas. When i apply scripture to my own opinions and ideas I realize that certainly He is the greater part of all that I could ever be or think. I am so joyful knowing Him as the greater than and not the less than.
In due time and season He will bring it all together into the presence of His greatness and we all will bow and worship. Keep blogging, but just keep in mind His greatness and our smallness!

Who Is He To You?
In Matthew 16 Jesus asks a pertinent question of His disciples:
“Now when Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, Who do people say that the Son of Man is? And they answered, Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. He said to them, But who do you [yourselves] say that I am? Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven. ” (Matthew 16:13-17, AMP)
This question fits so appropriately for this post-modern time; As the Church moves outside the walls to reach the “now” generation who are full of questions and scrambling for identity. I truly trust and rely on the fact that one can never find their true identity till they find Christ. I am not talking about the address on their driver’s license or the picture that it also contains. Nor am I referring to any university ID that may describe gender and placement. I am speaking to the effect of the identity that should mirror their inner relations with God.
I like the response: Some say…, however, The Lord drilled this down to what needed to be spoken and heard by the speaker: Who do you say that I am? You see, in this moment of Church existence we must stop saying he said or she said or this is what I heard about who you are! The question is pointed right at the church also! Who do you say that I am? Now in this time of an emergent Church, the remnant, that is being drawn out to declare Him, the communities must have a descriptive answer not just a hear say!
The answer: The Christ, that consciousness of oneness with God (John 17) and the oneness with creation! The Son of the Living God, Jehovah, Yah, King of kings and the Lord of Glory! He can identify with us can we identify with Him in this institutionalized religion that we a re forced to perceive as His entrance into the kingdom!
I trust that you will find the answer to your own identity when you submit to the cost of discipleship found in Matthew 16:24-26. Remember your identity you carry in your wallet is not who you are spiritually!
