Her Little Hand In Granddad’s Hand

What a moment it was for me the day I visited my new granddaughter in the hospital. I was so happy to see her for the first time. As all the pictures were being taken, I thought to myself, I want a picture with her hand in mine. So when I downloaded them I had to put this on the blog. Her name is Stella Blue, I had already blogged this earlier this week. I wanted to show everyone her little hand in mine. I am always going to be there to hold out my hand to her and help her through life the best I can. It is as though our small hand is in Jesus’ hand and He holds us forevermore.

Best and be happy

Being Reminded During The Storm

The storm, recently here in Northern California, could be compared to a the word “horrible” and not one that would be welcome again. However, I learned some things (or reminded) that are worth blogging about.

  1. God is in control of the weather. (DUH!)
  2. It is really cool not having electricity. (Reminded Kathy and me of our hippie days in the late sixties and early seventies when we lived in a truck or tepee.)
  3. You can rebuild relationships. (Because the television is not blasting in your face.)
  4. Being quiet is really quite nice.
  5. Not having the internet! (I really do not like to admit it, but it was nice to take a break from coding, beta testing, emails, and of course, blogging for a while.)
  6. My iPhone was down because AT&T’s towers were affected. (I am still working on this emotion.)
  7. Candles smell good when they burn.
  8. I have to remember to get more lamp oil!
  9. Reading the Word under candle light is really inspirational.
  10. My granddaughter reminded me of how to trust God in the dark times! (She jumped off the table into her gram gram’s lap just knowing that gram gram would catch her! Gram gram was looking the other way when she jumped! Yes, gram gram cauhgt her just in time!)
  11. Food tastes just as good from the propane stove. (Again, a great reminder of the hippie days! Man I miss them: sorry it is true!)
  12. Storms pass and God is still there waiting for me to trust Him!
  13. My heart grew even more compassionate toward those in need.
  14. I went to bed early (now if you know me that is miracle in itself!)
  15. There is only one shelter that really protects and that is God, Our Farther!

Through it all I really learned to fall deeper in love with God, my family, my friends and humanity.

Peace

Dennis

Is She Cute?

My granddaughter, Sierra Rose, went into Boulder Creek tonight to get some “candy”. The whole town of Boulder Creek closes down and the vendors hand out candy and toys to hundreds of the kids from the mountains. Here is picture of Sierra Rose. She is cute, huh?
