Blinded Eyes And Deaf Ears

I often wonder how blind can Church leaders be when they look at the decline of the Church populous! I mean the answers that I get when I address certain pastors about the “shrinkage” in America’s normally affluent growing churches. It as though they do not want o admit that there is a problem. It seems to me that as long as you look through a “tunnel” you will see only so far to the right or left. However, looking at the broad view of things you will notice a great deal of discouraged and faithless people wandering around aimlessly. They are seeking truth and comfort. Their eyes are open to “change” and their ears are clearly listening for a “call” to the “real” Gospel of Jesus Christ. That gospel that declares the obedience to God and the command to love your neighbor! Pastors are groping in the dark for answers when the answer is so clear to see. Not to overstate this, but the “World is Flat” and the internet has opened up vast communities of knowledge to help in repairing the breach. It is really dismal to read some of the statistics that are being broad casted over the internet. I have dialogued with some wonderful people about this and there is a real line of information that is being formed. Looking into the heart of God you see truth, hope, encouragement, love, and compassion. All these characteristics are placed in our lives that know Him! I pray thae we can all share these characteristics with this hurting world and those that are wandering about looking for what they do not see or hear!

I love people, and my heart cries out to God that we all can reach more for Him. Let’s stop playing church and all the political games that have are attached. Let us be simple and mend the broken hearted together!

2008 A Year For Political Statements

The run is on for who will be the next President of the United States of America. The voices are loud and clear (I mean politically clear) on what the issues are. What “hot buttons” are being discussed in the debates or in public venue. Does anyone really believe these people? That is the secular side but how about the “church” politics that some of us deal with on a daily basis! The run is one for these offices that reflect “presidential” power in some strange way! I mean these “hot buttons” are always hot!  Does anyone rally believe these guys? More to come on this subject of “murky politics” in a clear glass world!

Peace

Are You Ever Confused?

I am glad I read the Word of God (the B-I-B-L-E). Often when I watch those TV Evangelists ( and I know some of them personally) I get really frustrated. Lately during these telethons great preaching has been accomplished. But……. then here it comes…… you cannot receive the word they gave you till you give them some financial renumeration. UGH! Why are these people lying? If I was not so nurtured (I did not say perfect or perfected) I would be freaked out at God! I am sick of the manipulation of these people asking for funds. Don’t misunderstand me, I know the importance of an offering for a work that is being done for His kingdom. However, Jesus never said He would sell a blessing! I remember some churches that I have visited and also preached crusades (revival: old fashion term) at that they would have prayer lines with dollar amounts attached. Did not Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our (His) faith state that the fisrt shall be last and the last shall be first? Did He not refer to the worker who started at an early hour and the one who made it just for a few minutes of the work day, did they not get the same wage? STOP! It is not about how fancy or how big! It is about loving people who need a Savior. I am not saying that fancy and big is not good, I am saying stop lying!!!!! Just do what Jesus did and does through those who trust Him: Go around blessing people, He will take care of the funding! There are no superstars, just Jesus! He is all we need. He does not lie.

We just gave a church to a personality here in California. It was a political manipulation! He fired all the great people that had served there for years! How do we expect a generation of young, hungry (spiritually speaking) personalities to buy into this. It not emotionalism, it is relation-ism. They see it, and if they don’t we should tell them. Did you ever see the movie, “The Body Snatchers”? Well, two things: There was manipulation of “the body” and when one was not right everyone would point it out. I think we should begin to point out this perverted political manipulation of the Word and start pointing people to Jesus. What do you say?
